Offshore trips consist primarily of fishing the Furuno Bank. It is a bank on the edge of the continental shelf where depth comes up to a max of 128 feet. This bank creates a major upwelling where bait gets pushed up. And where there is bait there are predators!
Mostly live bait fishing with small tunas (Pacific Bonito) as bait. Large Pacific Sailfish (over 100 lbs) are the most common, but we do tangle with Black, Blue & Striped Marlin, Dorado and Wahoo frequently as well.
On our inshore (and close-by offshore ) trips we often raise Rooster Fish, Sierra Mackerel, Cubera Snapper, Needlefish, and Jack Crevalle.
Our tours includes boat, licensed & experienced crew, bait, fishing equipment and here's what you'll be casting for:
Yellowfin Tuna - Yellowfin’s schools are sporadically found year-round, but are notoriously abundant in the months of July through December
Snapper - The different species of snappers: Cubera, Mullet, Silk, Yellowtail, Spotted and Guacamayo are found all year
Jack Crevalle - This is one of the most abundant species year around
Pacific Sierra - In this area record-size Sierras are available in January through April
Mahi Mahi - The best chances to get a nice one are the months of October through January
Wahoo - All year especially between August and January
Black Marlin - The peak months are May, June and July
Blue Marlin - All year, any time November through January the best
Sail Fish - The most common billfish in the area, the very best time to try is January through May
